How to enable notifications in web apps

WebCatalog supports notifications out of the box. But for some web apps, to receive notifications, you will need to manually configure additional web app settings. Here is a list of how you can fully enable notifications in some popular web apps.

Facebook Messenger

  1. On your computer, open Messenger.
  2. In the top right, click ⚙️ and then Settings.
  3. Check the “Desktop notifications enabled” box.

Outlook

Outlook uses an in-house solution to display notifications, instead of standard HTML5 Notification API. Thus, WebCatalog/Singlebox won’t be able to integrate Outlook’s notifications with your system. Instead, notifications will still show up in the right corner of Outlook’s window. For details, see https://github.com/webcatalog/webcatalog-app/issues/874.
