How to Add a VAT, GST, or Tax Number

Updated this week

VAT (Value-Added Tax) or GST (Goods and Services Tax) is a consumption tax applied to goods and services, typically paid by the end consumer. Tax rates vary by country.

If you're purchasing through Paddle, our payment provider, you can find the applicable tax rates here. Paddle automatically handles VAT and other sales taxes in countries where it's legally required (e.g. EU, India, Australia).

For countries where reverse charge applies, VAT-registered businesses making cross-border purchases won’t be charged VAT—provided they enter their valid VAT ID during checkout.

To Add a VAT Number at Checkout:

  1. Begin the checkout process and enter your details (including country and postal code), then click Continue.

  2. The system will calculate and display the applicable tax.

  3. Click "Add VAT number" and enter your VAT ID.
